Mikaël Kingsbury Makes History

As if his 12-victory streak wasn’t enough, Mikaël Kingsbury has just written another important chapter in his young career: he has become the freestyle skier with the most World Cup victories. His 47th gold medal puts him ahead of the legendary Hannah Kearney and Donna Weinbrecht. This first-place finish also adds to Kingsbury’s thus-far perfect score this season, with five wins in as many starts.

“BEATING HANNAH AND DONNA, AND NOW BEING ALONE AT THE TOP, FEELS INCREDIBLE BECAUSE THOSE ATHLETES ARE TRUE LEGENDS. I AM HONOURED.”

“I WAS ONCE AGAIN ABLE TO SKI MY BEST IN THE FINAL AND SUPER FINAL. I WORKED HARD THESE LAST FEW DAYS TO MAINTAIN MY ENERGY LEVEL AND BE 100% ON COMPETITION DAY. DURING TRAINING, I DIDN’T DO AS MANY RUNS AND THE STRATEGY PAID OFF,” shared Kingsbury, who qualified the Deer Valley course as the best in the world.
