Snow ValleySlide Peak is the crown jewel of Snow Valley. When natural snow is abundant, Slide Peak comes to life, offering the best backcountry experience of any Southern California resort. In addition, there is much more backcountry terrain to be explored that you can’t see from the base of the resort along Lifts 8 & 9. Margarita Beach and our newest food venue, Outpost 8, will provide food and drink refreshments in the backcountry this season.

Slide Peak
Far above the tree line, you’ll get the feeling you’re on top of the world when you reach the top of Lift 11 on Slide Peak. The Face of Slide offers some of the steepest terrain around on trails like Show Me and Snake Run. Slide Peak is not just for advanced skiers and snowboarders – intermediate trails can be found on the western portion of Slide Peak on Nord Valley and West Slide.
When your day on Slide Peak is complete and you want to return to the base of Snow Valley, load Lift 9 at the base of Slide Peak and ride up to the mid-station where you must unload. From there, take the groomed intermediate trail Bobcat Alley to Lift 8.

Peak 9
Lift 9 accesses a large variety of intermediate to advanced backcountry terrain not visible from the base of the resort. Unload Lift 9 at the mid-station and head to your right to discover some powder-filled bowls, go straight ahead and ski the backside of Peak 9 down to Lift 11, or make a U-turn as you exit the lift and you’ll find some gladed tree runs which will take you back to the base of Lift 9. If you choose to stay on the lift through the mid-station, you can ride over Peak 9 into Hidden Valley, where you will unload and go to your right to get to Lift 11.

Lift 8
Reopening this year for the first time in more than a decade, Lift 8 will provide direct access to some great intermediate terrain as well as give lift access from the backcountry to the top of Lift 1. A great effort has been made this summer to remove a lot of the brush in this area, opening up much more skiable terrain for this season. Trails such as Richards and Snow Bowl will be groomed nightly, offering a secluded alternative for intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
