Meribel FIS World Cup airs Saturday
Canadian Freestyle Ski Team fans will have plenty of opportunities to see their heroes, like Olympic Champions Alex Bilodeau and Jenn Heil, in action this season as Rogers Sportsnet, CBC Television and RDS will all be airing events from January to April.
As well, the CFSA will be hosting live webcasting of its January 29 Canada Post Freestyle Grand Prix at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park FIS World Cup.
Canadian Freestyle Ski Association big wig Grant McDiarmaid said he is thrilled that there will be so much Freestyle on television in 2011. “It’s great to have so many of the FIS Freestyle World Cups available on TV this year. Between the three networks and our webcasts, pretty well all Canadians are going to be able to follow the Canadian team throughout the season.”
The first event to air is the Meribel, France FIS Dual Moguls World Cup from December, where 16-year-old Justine Dufour-Lapointe from Montreal took her first World Cup podium. It will be shown on RDS on Saturday, January 8 at various times across the country, including 4:30 p.m. in Quebec, and 5:30 p.m. Pacific.
