Europe has great opening conditions and is offering the best skiing in the world at this time. More resorts across Europe are preparing to open their doors this weekend after a great start to the season although there was little snowfall during the week.
Solden’s enjoyed 10cm of fresh snow on Tuesday 12th November, and will open more terrain this weekend, while Obergurgl kicked off the winter season on Thursday 14th November.
Alpe d’Huez plans start operations for the first time this season on Saturday 16th November. The only other one of our featured resorts currently open in France, Tignes, now has an excellent snowbase of 200cm and continues to provide excellent conditions. As you can see in the following image, with 200cm’s Tignes looks like the place to ski:
After a weekend of heavy snowfall in Switzerland Davos will open on Friday 15th November and Engelberg will follow suit the next day. Verbier plans to open again on Saturday after a successful opening day last weekend.
There was no new snow in Italy or Germany this week but resorts in Lillehammer, Norway received a light dusting of snow as they prepare to open this weekend.
