Whistler accommodations

Like cell phone companies, Intrawest has roled out a new pass product designed for the “modern” family. Called the Intrawest Passport, the pass will offer children 12 and under free skiing and riding, as well as redefine who can be included in the product. The season pass includes six days of skiing at each of six participating North American ski resorts during the 2014-15 season–Blue Mountain, Ont.; Mont Tremblant, Que.; Stratton Mountain, Vt.; Snowshoe and W.V.Steamboat Springs and Winter Park, Colo.

The Intrawest Passport’s introductory price is being offered on a sliding scale, with the primary adult Passport initially offered at $549, additional adults at $399, 13- to 20-year-olds at $199, and children 12 and under are free. There are no blackout dates. Purchasers can define family however works best, which can include family members, stepfamilies, non-traditional famillies and good friends. After the first primary adult pass is purchased, families can purchase up to 15 additional Passports, including:

• Five additional discounted adult Passports for $399 each
• Five Teen Passports for $199 each
• Five children under 12 ski free passes
• Extended age for a Teen Passport that allows teens and young adults through age 20 to receive the discount.

“Times are changing and so is the traditional family structure. Intrawest understands those changes. Whether you’re a traditional, single parent, or tri-generational family we’ve created The Intrawest Passport to give your family the most flexibility and affordability to come ski or snowboard our mountains,” Bill Jensen, CEO, Intrawest Resorts, explains.

The Intrawest Passport goes on sale March 7, and will be offered at the introductory price through March 14.
