RCR to Require Proof of Vaccination

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) announced today in a letter to pass-holders that all it’s resorts will require guest proof of vaccination for winter operations. The announcement includes Fernie Alpine Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain and Nakiska Ski Area.

RCR’s communication is as follows:

RCR decided to adjust the “COVID-19: Know Before You Go” winter operations policies & procedures, which will be in place at all of our resorts for this winter season, with the key adjustment as follows:

“Following the advice provided by the Provincial Government Health Authorities, RCR has decided to require proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record to access all chair lifts and indoor facilities at our resorts this winter. This decision has been made with the goal of providing you, our guests, our staff, and our resort communities with the safest environment possible.”

This means that all guests 12 or older must show government-issued proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record to ski or ride at RCR resorts during the 2021.22 winter season.

To streamline capacity and wait times around the resorts, we have chosen not to accept verification of a negative COVID-19 test result to allow access to our resorts.

Medical or religious exemptions will be considered; however, requests must be submitted four (4) weeks before the date of your resort visit. Exemptions will only be approved if RCR believes that we can ensure the safety of our other guests and staff.

For full details and frequently asked questions regarding this operational change, please visit our COVID-19: Know Before You Go page.

Please review our refund options if you have purchased a product with us for the upcoming winter season and are not comfortable with our policy.

If you have purchased a 2021.22 Season Pass or RCR Rockies Card (Direct to Lift), you will be able to provide proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record online. You will receive a separate email to verify your proof of COVID-19 Immunization Record.

Along with our guests, our staff at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies are big fans of the mountains, and we hope to enjoy them with you this season.

RCR’s Quebec resorts, Mont-Sainte-Anne and Stoneham, were excluded from the communication and absent on RCR’s “COVID-19: Know Before You Go” page.

The Quebec government made its own announcement that all Quebec resorts will require proof of vaccination for people age 13 and older to use ski lifts and access certain services offered in day lodges at the province’s ski areas this winter.
