while filming the 09/10 W.M. film, Dynasty, Tahoe’s cream of the crop skiers and movie makers descended upon Alpine Meadows in search of deep, bottomless powder – and they struck snow equivalent to California gold.
All tallied, 13 feet of snow fell while Olympic skiers floated through powder so deep they simply disappeared through turns; only to reemerge with giant, ear-to-ear grins.
That special deal with Mother Nature holds true for Alpine Meadows. Renowned for deep powder, the mountain’s 2400 acres and seven legendary powder bowls host some country’s finest descents. Those who were there will remember – actually storms like that can’t be forgotten; but in case you’d like a beautiful reminder, check out the new Warren Miller film, Dynasty, at a theater near you.
