New England Pass Launches Promise Program

After a winter cut short and looming uncertainties about the pandemic’s impact on next winter, the New England Pass—which includes Sunday River Resort, Sugarloaf, and Loon Mountain Resort—has unveiled the 2020-21 New England Pass Promise program for winter season passholders to provide peace of mind and confidence for skiing and snowboarding next winter.

The New England Pass Promise includes the following:

Worry-Free Winter Assurance is included with passes purchased by June 15, 2020. It has two components: The first is it promises a certain number (150) of total operating days for all three resorts collectively. If the three resorts operate for less than 150 total days during the 2020-21 season, a credit will be offered for passholders to apply toward a 2021-22 pass. The value of the credit will be based on the percentage of the 2020-21 season the three combined resorts are not able to open for skiing, based on a 150-day season. For example, if the resorts are open for only 135 days, 10 percent of the value of a guest’s pass purchase would carry over as a credit toward the purchase of a 2021-22 pass. The credit will be calculated at the end of the winter season.

The other component is passholders can defer the value of an unused 2020-21 pass as a credit toward a 2021-22 pass for any reason through Dec. 10, 2020 at no cost.

Loyalty discounts for customers that purchased a New England Pass for the 2018-19 or 2019-20 seasons are eligible for a renewal discount on the purchase of any 2020-21 pass. Discounts range from $30 off for Silver College Pass holders to $150 off for adult Platinum Pass holders. Eligible passholders who purchased a pass prior to the New England Pass Promise program launch will be automatically credited.

The deadline to purchase these passes at the rates from the New England Pass spring sale is extended to June 15, 2020, and extends early-purchase incentives with a $50 deposit on the Easy Pay Plan. The Easy Pay Plan allows purchasers to pay their pass in four, interest-free scheduled installments before the winter season.

Season passes will go off sale after June 15, 2020. As the resorts work to accommodate social distancing in operations next season, there may be a limit set on the number of season passes available to purchase in the fall.
