Skier Dies at Whistler Blackcomb after hitting tree

A 22-year-old woman from Ontario is dead after skiing into a tree on Whistler Blackcomb on Friday, Feb. 25.

The woman was transported to the Whistler Health Care Centre “after Whistler Blackcomb Ski Patrol responded to a skier medical incident on an intermediate trail in Symphony Bowl on Whistler Mountain,” Whistler Blackcomb reported.

After further emergency care and evaluation, the woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

“Whistler Blackcomb, Whistler Blackcomb Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends,” said Whistler Blackcomb COO Geoff Buchheister.

Skiing is inherently a dangerous sport and unfortunately, accidents do happen.

Ski safe and Ski the World!
