Banff Resort’s Open Early

Ski Seasons Slow Start Continues

The ski season has began in Western Canada with Banff resort’s opening this weekend for skiers and snowboarders.

Lake Louise in Banff National Park opened today a week ahead of schedule with early snow and good snow-making.

Mount Norquay also opened today after receiving 35 centimetres of snow and good temperatures for snow-making.

Nakiska Ski Area is scheduled to open Saturday and Sunday for a preview weekend.

Early season skiing and snowboarding can be an exhilarating experience, but it can also come with challenges such as limited snow cover, variable conditions, and fewer open trails.
